Our History
HWP Insurance was founded in 1916 as a real estate firm with its main focus on the growing and vibrant communities of the DC metro area. Our founders shortly thereafter recognized that their real estate customers had an additional need for insurance. In 1917, the agency signed its first insurance contract. Since then, HWP Insurance has grown to a full-service agency.

Opened our first Maryland office to serve Annapolis and the Eastern Shore

Ownership changed hands to current majority owners, Edward Bonifant & Michael Cauley
